The Loss & Laughs Framework

The Four Phases of Grief

The Loss & Laughs Framework isn't a promise that grief ends. It's a map of how grief moves. You'll loop back, and some weeks you'll live in two phases at once. That's not you doing it wrong.

1

The Unraveling

Loss strips away everything you built around yourself that wasn't real, and what's left is the truest version of you.

You might be here if:

  • Picking a breakfast food feels like a quantum physics problem.
  • You're running on autopilot and somehow still answering everyone's texts.
2

The Searching

You release the need for answers and start experimenting with ways to live forward, finding your person in the signs along the way.

You might be here if:

  • You're trying things on: new routines, old hobbies, a tarot deck, a different job title.
  • Some of it fits, a lot of it doesn't, and both are useful information.
3

The Reshaping

Piece by piece, a new version of you takes shape that makes you feel proud, peaceful and purposeful, even as you continue to grieve.

You might be here if:

  • You're keeping some things, letting go of others, and noticing who you actually are now.
  • You can talk about them and laugh in the same sentence.
4

The Emerging

You stop waiting for permission and start deliberately living the life you've rebuilt, even while you're still becoming it.

You might be here if:

  • You've stopped waiting for permission to live the life you've built.
  • You still miss them, and you're living on purpose anyway.
